At Land&Monkeys, we have a simple idea: to make plant-based food irresistible.
We believe that the transition toward a more sustainable diet must go through good food and good moments. And what could be more delicious and welcoming than a bakery?
From croissants to lemon tarts, including the iconic ham-and-butter sandwich, we reinvent the classics of French bakery and pastry in a 100% plant-based version: no butter, no cream, no eggs, no milk — but with one non-negotiable requirement: the taste must be even better! Instead, we use natural plant-based alternatives with a lower carbon footprint.
Omnivores, vegetarians, or flexitarians — our neighborhood bakeries and coffee shops are open to everyone, at any time of the day. From your morning coffee and croissant to the last batch of the evening, Fabien, Nawelle, and Yoann welcome you in a thoughtfully designed space, pet-friendly and with free Wi-Fi — just like home.
Our story
The story of Land&Monkeys began in 2020 when the baker-chef couple Rodolphe and Yoshimi Landemaine opened the first 100% plant-based bakery in the heart of Paris’s Marais district.
It was in 2014 that Rodolphe and Yoshimi became aware of the environmental impact of what we eat. A large part of our food relies on intensive farming and livestock systems, which are highly polluting and destructive to biodiversity. They then became vegan.
From 2018 onward, they decided to dedicate their entrepreneurial talent to promoting a more planet-respecting diet. It took nearly two years of research and development to reinvent all the great classics of bakery and pastry.
The first Land&Monkeys bakery opened in February 2020, in the middle of the pandemic — which did not prevent customers from showing up!
Following this initial success, Land&Monkeys quickly expanded in Paris and across France, with a strong ambition: to become the leader of plant-based bakery in France and Europe.
An Impact-Driven Company
Land&Monkeys is much more than a bakery. It is a regenerative business model with a clear ambition: to help bring Life back where it is disappearing.
Upstream, this means working with local agricultural supply chains, organic producers, or those committed to practices that respect soil and biodiversity.
Downstream, it means redistributing part of the value created by supporting associations and projects dedicated to protecting living ecosystems.
At every step, we choose to act consciously: from sourcing our ingredients to our packaging, all the way to waste management — every decision is designed to continuously improve our impact.
